Virtual rehearsal studio for musicians

Jamulus is a free music utility software created by Volker Fischer and GitHub contributors. The desktop program helps you to digitally perform, rehearse, or simply listen with your bandmates or colleagues. It is important to remember, though, that you will only be able to connect to a wired broadband connection instead of WiFi. In addition, it would be possible for you to run your own private server, which only those invited can access.

Is Jamulus software free?

Jamulus is a free, open-source service software maintained by a group of developers. It is designed to have a high-quality, low-latency sound that lets you play as well as practice together effortlessly and in real-time. As far as the hearing tools are concerned, it is most recommended that you use a wired headphone to avoid echo or vibration and minimize delays.

It is also recommended that you limit the programs running simultaneously with Jamulus to limit internet traffic. Developers also advised to connect to servers with the lowest ping times. To give you a perfect example, 15ms or below servers will typically give you the best chance of consistency. The method of installing this program on Mac is different from that of Windows.

For Windows users, you must first install ASIO Driver like ASIO4ALL. It’s highly recommended that you use a sound card with a native ASIO driver. Only then will you be able to download and install Jamulus for Windows. Should you get a warning notice from the SmartScreen, simply click ‘More Info’ then click ‘Run anyway.’ The last step is to set up your sound card

Get the band back together—virtually

Jamulus is a simple software solution that helps you to create, practice, or listen to music with bandmates remotely. A private server may be set up if you wish to have a private jamming session. However, before running the software, you need to make sure that you meet its truckloads of specifications so that you can have a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
